What is your policy on fighting zombies?

• Violence is not the answer. I will avoid fighting whenever possible.
• Discretion is the better part of valor. I will only fight when I absolutely have to.
• I'll fight when it's necessary but only in self-defense.
• Shoot 'em in the head! If I see a zombie and have a chance to kill it, I'll go for it.
• Search and Destroy: It's not enough to shoot zombies I see. I will actively hunt for any zombies in my area and destroy them. Fighting the undead is more important than my personal safety.

How do you regard other human survivors in a zombie attack?

• This survivor is an island. I trust no one.
• Stranger danger is real. I have a few loved ones and/or friends that I would trust in a crisis but all strangers are potential threats.
• I use common sense when it comes to other people. If they seem trustworthy, I'll recruit them for my team but otherwise they can fend for themselves.
• As a social butterfly, I know lots of people that I can contact in case of a zombie attack. I can organize a large group of people to fight off the undead.
• I am a river to my people. I am skilled at organizing and leading large groups of survivors. That being said, sometimes I get drawn into conflict because of them. It's nearly impossible to control so many people during a crisis without some mistakes.

How prepared are you for a zombie attack?

• YOLO! I live for the moment. Worrying about tomorrow is a sucker's game. If I need something, I can get it. How hard can it be?
• There's some ramen noodles in the cupboard and a baseball bat by the door. That should be enough, right?
• I've actually put a little effort into disaster preparation. I have some food and water, plus a few other useful tools and/or weapons.
• I know what a bug out bag is and I have one ready to go.
• Once again, the conservative zombie-apocalypse preparation stockpile pays off for the survivalist! Between my arsenal of weapons, pallets of military rations, and backup diesel generators, I can last years without civilization. Assuming of course, other survivors don't kill me to take my stuff.

What is your ideal shelter during a crisis?

• Staying in one place is a sucker's game. You have to stay mobile to keep ahead of the horde. I'll stay on foot or use my car.
• I have access to a bus, RV, or other large vehicle. Some protection but with some mobility.
• An apartment, duplex or a small building is easier to defend and escape from if necessary.
• My (two story or larger) home is a castle. That or a medium sized commercial building.
• Time to go to the local mall or big box store and barricade the doors. The bigger the shelter, the better.

• Firearms: Training in the use and maintenance of firearms. Countless hours of practice at the shooting range makes shooting a reflex, not a conscious action. Some practiced shooters have adopted a shoot first, ask questions later policy, which makes dealing with other survivors more problematic.
• Medical: Medical: Professional education in medicine although not necessarily a full medical doctor. Most of the non-fatal emergencies people suffer during a zombie attack are treatable by paramedics and the few that require doctors are typically untreatable due to lack of resources. Hospitals are usually the first buildings to fall during a crisis. Medical professionals tend to be less likely to use violence in a zombie attack as they see the undead are shambling biohazards that should be avoided when possible.
• Shop: This covers a wide variety of handyman skills. People with a background in the construction industry, carpenters, mechanics, foremen, and machinists have this skill. The primary use for this skill in a zombie related crisis involves reinforcing and improving one's shelter, whether it's to barricade the doors and windows to fixing and maintaining a backup diesel generator.
• Technical: Computer experts, engineers, and other people familiar with technology are grouped here. They can usually learn new technical systems and devices quickly even during a crisis. They can hack computers, fix broken communication equipment, and arm or disarm security systems. All of these skills can be extremely useful in the right circumstances. However, people with advanced technical skills tend to value logic over violence or other people.
• Diplomacy: The ability to negotiate, compromise and broker deals with other people. Lawyers, politicians, and managers are the most likely to have this skill. They also tend to see violence as a last resort, which is not always practical during a zombie attack.
• Survival: A person with this skill is able to survive without the benefits of civilization. Hunters and soldiers are often knowledgeable in living off the land in a wilderness environment but beggars and criminals can be just as skilled at surviving in an urban environment on their own. The emphasis on self-reliance often engenders a distrust of others though.
• Hand-to-Hand Combat: You are schooled in the art of kicking ass without a gun, usually in the form of martial arts training but this also includes the use of weapons like swords, clubs, machetes, and knives. People with high levels of hand to hand combat trust their own fists and feet, thinking that a reliance on equipment is a weakness.
• Leadership: A combination of charisma, experience, and schooling in the art of getting other people to do what you tell them. Good leaders can unite people in a crisis. However, leaders tend to focus on dealing with the problems of their subordinates, causing them to neglect their own problems.

When the zombies attack, people tend to band together. Which survivor group are you most likely to trust with your life?

• I'm a Loner: Zombies may be dangerous but people are the real threat. In an attack, you stick to yourself, avoiding other survivors when possible. You're more cautious as a result, but you can't be betrayed by anyone if you never trust them in the first place.
• Criminal Associates: Teaming up with your local drug dealer, mafia boss, or biker gang is a sensible idea. After all, they're armed and ready to shoot it out with anyone or anything that invades their turf. They'll also be the first to loot whatever supplies they need to survive or set up a black market for the other survivor groups. However, how far can you trust them? Even if they have lot of soldiers ready to fight, what makes you think they won't leave you high and dry if push comes to shove?
• Gamers: Your friends may not be athletic or popular but they know about zombies. They also have stockpiles of junk food, gadgets, and other useful equipment in a zombie attack. More importantly most gamers have at least a few weapons suitable for fighting zombies like replica katanas or military surplus firearms.
• Nuclear Family: You're part of a small family. There's a few of you, but no more than six members total. That's all you need to survive. Board the doors and bar the windows, it's family night.
• The Authorities: You link up with the police, soldiers, paramedics, firemen, or another group with governmental backing. They do have the guns and the training. Unfortunately, they will be on the frontline of any crisis. Panicked survivors will mob them, followed by hordes of the undead. Martial law will be the end result.
• Extended Family: Your family is large. Lots of siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, the works. A family that fights zombies together stays together. Of course family dynamics may hamper your ability to effectively deal with the undead and there's sure to be a number of family members that can't help in a crisis but still consume resources.
• College Friends: When the undead rise, you turn to your dorm. Your chances of survival must be better with a bunch of young adults, right? It doesn't matter if you aren't exactly prepared for the It's a little like a house party. Everyone calls everyone they know and pretty soon, you have a small army of students ready to trash the zombies.
• Coworkers: Many people only associate with their coworkers and you aren't any different. Love or hate them, at least you know where you stand with them. Hopefully some of them will be useful in a crisis and if worse comes to worse, you know who to shoot in the knees to slow the zombies down.
• Church Group: If this isn't the End of Days, it sure seems like it. You feel safer with the people you know from church than with anyone else. As a result, you have a larger network of people to watch your back and barricade the doors. Most churches are big on forgiveness and redemption so they won't be as bloodthirsty or paranoid as other survivor groups. That could be an asset or liability.
• Ragtag Band of Misfits Thrown Together by Fate: You never made it back home when the zombies rose. You found yourself stuck with a cross section of contemporary life, young and old, men and women of all races. Surely, such a group can't possibly overcome their differences before the zombies overwhelm them. Only fools would trust their luck with such a motley group.

What's your plan for survival in the event of a zombie outbreak?

• Wait for Rescue: The safest thing to do is to hole up somewhere and wait the zombies out. Sooner or later, the army will move in and wipe the shambling hordes out. Assuming you can zombie-proof your shelter, you should be fine. That is of course, assuming you have enough supplies. No matter how well you're prepared, as supplies run low, tensions run high.
• Kill All Zombies: It's not in your nature to run or hide. Where other people see an unending horde of shambling corpses, you only see a target rich environment. Unfortunately many other survivors will try to pick a fight with you. Either they can't bear the thought of any killing their zombified family members or they just want your weapons. You won't get many new recruits with this plan but that's all right with you. More notches on your gun for you.
• Take Over: It's good to be king. Or mayor. Or warlord. Or whatever title you pick for yourself after you take over the area. The government has collapsed and someone needs to fill the void, so it might as well be you. This is an aggressive plan, so you will need to take the fight to the zombies and other survivor groups if necessary. You need a lot of people willing to follow your orders to make this plan work but it will be hard to win their trust. You also need a large shelter to house your followers and supplies. Of course, the larger and better equipped your group is, the more other survivor groups will target you and the more area you control, the harder it will be.
• Party: Most people view the hordes of the undead as an existential threat and a harbinger of the apocalypse. You see their arrival as a great excuse to party. Get your friends together and celebrate the end of the world, the more the merrier. Of course, you need a lot of supplies and a safe place to party but if you can manage that, you can have the time of your life...
• Escape: Clearly, you need to get as far away from the zombies and dangerous survivors as you can. It will be very hard to escape without help though. You need a lot of weapons and supplies to make it through but the amount you can carry is limited by the number of people with you. Any successful plan to break through the hordes of undead will need a team of survivors. Wasting time and effort on a shelter just lowers your chance of success. Mobility is a key.
